Ed has been performing and teaching guitar for the past 40 years; he has worked at many Primary and secondary schools in the Cambridge/Norfolk area and teaches all styles. He has passed grade 8 classical guitar Trinity College London.

Ed played as guitarist with the hit Duo the truth who had a number 13 Chart hit with Beatles cover “Girl” and no 26 hit with Kinks cover “I go to sleep” Ed did many sessions in the 60’s and 70’s working in small studios in London. Ed also played with London scratch band Murphy’s Law – members were Martin Turner – Wishbone Ash and Jack Wild of “Artful Dodger Oliver film fame”.

My name is Mrs. Kim Keates and I am a saxophone player and performer in two local wind bands and a guitar and saxophone duo, recently playing for the Mayor at home evening in Downham Market Town Hall.

I am able to offer saxophone tuition from April 2026 at Nelson Academy. I have ABRSM grades in theory and classical exams.

For primary school children an instrument called a Nuvo J sax which is a small plastic saxophone is ideal as a starter instrument. This is suitable for all primary school children

An alternative for bigger children from age 9 years is an alpha sax which is a smaller, lighter alto saxophone. All children start on the J sax in order to build core skills.

My vision is to promote musical development starting with basic building blocks of sound and rhythm through fun games and backing tracks and to develop key skills in playing the saxophone.

Lessons would be on a one -to one basis and would cost £12 for a 20 -minute lesson and commitment would be on a half termly basis.
