Friends of Nelson Academy

Friends of Nelson Academy, is a group of passionate and driven parents and carers of children who attend (or have attended) Nelson Academy. 

We strive to work together as a team, to provide the children with additional luxuries within their school environment. We do this by organising fundraising events, introducing enterprise opportunities and receiving kind donations from parents/carers and generous local businesses. 

Our recent successes include a wonderful summer fair and a fabulous year 6 leavers party. We hope to grow our events in the coming months; we have plans for quiz nights, discos and a bustling Christmas fair! 

With the funds that we raise, we purchase each child a gift at Christmas and have recently issued each classroom with a wellbeing hamper. We also purchased a class set of chime bars recently, which can be heard ringing throughout the corridors of the academy!

You may have heard of our lovable mascot, Nel the elephant.... he has been received very well by the school community. He has his own line of merchandise, that sells out quicker than we can make it! We are very pleased to welcome the rest of his family too.
